Traditionally the EFFA meeting started with the President's Reception Party, a free evening of food and drink to welcome new members and meet up with old friends.
In 2006 the EFFA Secretary Pauline Birdsall suggested that it would be a good idea to get the host to nominate a charity.
The host was Aerly Bird Trans Global of Dublin, Ireland and their chosen charity was the Little Star Fund. EFFA agents embraced the idea and EUR3050.00 was collected.
It is now a central part of the EFFA Conference weekend and although the donations are collected at the President's Reception members that are unable to attend will often donate.
