The 2007 agm in Canada was hosted by BAT Transportation Inc..
2007 was the first time that the European Freight Forwarders Association had been across the Atlantic for the AGM. BAT Transportation were our hosts in Toronto and they gave us a meeting to remember. The upmarket downtown venue of the Fairmont Royal York Hotel was perfect, close to shops and restaurants and a short walk to the CN Tower.
The charity nominated by our host this year was Rameses Shriners.

One to ones
The popular one to one meetings were overseen by Holland Evans, who kept an eye on the timings and kept everythng running smoothly.
In his final year as President, Henrik Steffen welcomed the EFFA agents to this fundraiser, held in a private oak-panelled room at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel.
The group enjoyed delicious dishes of local produce and were served drinks while enjoying music.
The total raised for Ramses Shriners was USD 4451.00
Saturday Night at the CN Tower
A short walk and a quick trip in an elevator took the EFFA Agents to the 360 Restaurant in the CN Tower. This revolving restaurant gives a 360 degree view of Toronto 351 metres below. After dinner we ventured out onto the glass floor where you can look down onto the city below. The brave ones jumped on the glass, while the rest of us quickly moved away.
Niagara Day Trip
A trip to Toronto would not be complete without a visit to Niagara Falls and an EFFA Conference would not be complete without seeing the sights together. What better way to bond with your fellow agents than a trip on the Maid of the Mist boat, taking you up to the foot of the falls. It is hard to take yourself too seriously when you are dressed in a plastic poncho and the experiece was a real talking point.
In the afternoon there was a tour of Niagara, plus lunch and a tour at a local vineyard.
Golf at Thundering Waters Golf Club
In the afternoon the golfers left the rest of the group and made their way to Thundering Waters Golf Club, a mile from the Niagara Falls. The course was designed by John Daly and featured long carriers over water, something that John Daly can handle better than the EFFA Golfers.
