The 2008 agm in United Kingdom was hosted by Key Air & Sea Ltd.
Key Air & Sea Limited hosted the EFFA Conference for the sixth time in 2008, but the group had out grown the Windsor venue used on the previous 5 occasions and the hosts, Barry and Pauline Birdsall, wanted to show another side of England.
The venue was the Tower Hotel situated on the banks of the Thames, right next to Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. The area is a perfect base for visitors to the capital, with historic sites and the Restaurants and Pubs of St. Catherines Dock right on the doorstep. There are also excellent transport links with the River Taxis, Underground and Tourist Buses.
The charity nominated by our host this year was Richard House Childrens Hospice.
Key Air & Sea Ltd hosted the 2008 AGM.

One to One Meetings
One to One meetings have become one of main reasons for attending the EFFA Conference. It is the time that EFFA members can have uninterrupted meetings with their fellow members to discuss past and future business. 2008 was a record urnout for these meetings
The President's Reception was this year sponsored by Air Cargo Week and A-Z Freight Directory who kindly sponsored the drinks bar for the evening.
The event was held in the Tower Hotel overlooking the unique and splendid Tower Bridge. The event was well attended and went on well into the evening.
Donations were collected for the Host's Charity, Richard House Childrens Hospice. A grand total of GBP 4730.00 was raised.
The Hosts, Barry and Pauline Birdsall, greeted the largest-ever EFFA group to London. EFFA unveiled its PAID system, and with such widespread attendance the meeting was dynamic and exciting. A cheque was presented to Richard House Childrens Hospice by President Pat Dillon (left) and Secretary Pauline Birdsall (centre)
Saturday Thames excursion
The group enjoyed a brisk journey in a Thames River Taxi to the London Eye, where they drank champagne and saw the sights of London from the private pods.
After the 'flight' on the London Eye, the agents crossed the bridge and had drinks and dinner aboard the cosy and atmospheric 'Hispaniola' craft, which was booked exclusively for EFFA.
Some agents went on the night clubs, while others returned to the hotel to meet in the bar. Some did not reappear until the following morning!!
Tour of the Tower
It was a short walk along the river Thames from our hotel to the Tower of London where EFFA members took a guided tour and saw the Crown Jewels.
The International Course at the London Club in Kent was the host for the EFFA Golf Day 2008
The course which is used for Regional Open Qualifying was more than a challenge for the EFFA golfers
Emirates Airline kindly donated golf balls and gifts for prizes
