The 2011 agm in Switzerland was hosted by CLG Ltd. International Forwarding and Clearance Agency.
Our Host, Philipp Kuhn of CLG Zurich, chose the stunning setting of Palace Luzerne Hotel for the 2011 AGM. This stylish and luxurious venue is positioned on the lake and close to the pretty and historic town. The bravest members of the group enjoyed a bracing swim in the lake from the bath house and the less adventurous of us simply enjoyed strolling in the sun. The hospitality and kindness shown to us by Philipp and his team was second to none, and the weekend was a real pleasure.
The charity nominated by our host this year was HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation.

One to Ones
The one to one meetings kicked off the weekend, with Holland Evans kindly timekeeping.
President Pat Dillon welcomed all agents and their guests to the complimentary Friday night reception. The evening was a fundraiser for Helveticas International, our Host's chosen charity, and as always, the EFFA agents were generous.
The 'Secret Agent' exchange of gifts, now in its second year, was very poignant as we lost our long-time friend and colleague, Frans De Smedt, just days before the conference weekend. There was a fantastic atmosphere as we swapped gifts - some thoughtful, some beautiful, and some just funny. As Host, Philipp started the event by presenting Christian Beaumont with a Swiss cow bell, which Christian used to great effect during the weekend.
The AGM was a lively debate, with discussions on types of social networking and the future growth of the group. The meeting was kept as short as possible because Philipp Kuhn had arranged a very full programme of events for the rest of the day. EFFA agents can download the full minutes from the members area.
The agents enjoyed a sunny cruise across Lake Lucerne to take the funicular railway up to the top of the Pilatus mountain, where our Host Philipp Kuhn had arranged at his own expense a demonstration of local musical instruments. Several EFFA agents joined in the local band, making this a truly interactive experience!
After wining and dining we all returned to the hotel.
