The charity supported in our 2013 agm was Gilda's Club Chicago.
Gilda's Club Chicago's mission is to ensure that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and sustained by community. Gilda's Club Chicago offers free, professionally-led support and networking groups, educational lectures, healthy lifestyle programs, resource referrals and social opportunities to empower and educate individuals affected by cancer. All programs are offered free of charge for men, women, teens and children living with cancer, who have a family member or friend with cancer, or who have lost a loved one to cancer.
For the past several years, Dynasty Int’l Forwarding, Inc. has helped sponsor Breast Cancer Fund Raising activities through one of our long time associates, Ms. Doreen Michelini. Doreen is herself a cancer survivor and we have been proud to associate ourselves and company with many courageous people like her.
Imagine yourself or someone close to you being diagnosed with cancer. Where do you go and who do you turn to for support? Unfortunately hospitals, physicians and staff approaches are more clinical in nature when providing the support and information you need. That’s where an organization like Gilda’s Club comes in providing men, women and children an environment where they can have a place to go not only for information but for support and interaction with other cancer patients.
Gilda’s Club, named for the Saturday Night Live comedian who died from ovarian cancer in 1989, supports the community with programs in the Chicago office as well as in many of the major hospitals throughout the area. From support groups to cooking healthy classis to Noogieland for kids, Gilda’s Club offers free programs to cancer patients and their families so no one has to face cancer alone.
Thanks you for your support and please visit their website at www.gildasclubchicago.org
